It’s exciting to announce that we have officially launched a project titled Rural Education and Strategic Alliance – Developing community-engaged pedagogy to enhance the teaching practice of cross-curriculum priorities in the Australian Curriculum, led by Dr. Philip Chan and Dr. Hongzhi Zhang. On the 14th Oct Friday, after a long drive to Ararat and Ballarat, we engaged with Dr. Tim Harrison (CEO of Ararat Rural City Government) and Mr. Henry Gunstone (Director of Gum San Chinese Heritage Centre, Ararat), and Mr. Haoliang Sun (President of Xin Jin Shan Education Foundation Group and president of Xin Jin Shan Chinese library at Ballarat).
This project works with Monash’s Faculty of Arts (Dr. Anna Parlane) to connect local museums, libraries, and schools. It will co-develop teaching materials and methods with Monash University university academics and local school teachers. All stakeholders from various areas and organisations will be invited to join the blended symposium at Monash University, dated 7th November 2022 (Monday), the details of the event will be released shortly.
